Keeping Your Pavers Clean
Often times people ask what can be done with all the weeds or moss growing in between the pavers. We typically suggest using a special sand that hardens like grout, which will prevent the dirt from settling in between the paving stone joints and thus keeping the unattractive weeds or moss from growing.
How To Clean Pavers
Depending on the condition of your project we can use an industrial strength hot water pressure to really clean the paving stones that have been there for years. If the paving stones are not that old and just need a surface cleaning and cleaning between the joints of the pavers, a normal pressure washer often does the job just fine.
Day one: Using a pressure washer and special brush, we clean the pavers and strip out the old sand, dirt, weeds, etc. from in between the paving stones.
Day two: Depending on the weather, we can come back the next day or wait a couple days. Option one would be apply the special sand (polymeric sand) or apply sealer.
Day three: If you choose to use a polymeric sand on day two we would apply a sealer on day three.
We typically recommend staying off of the paving stones for a day or two – especially with driveways.
Types of Sealers For Paving Stones
